Privacy Policy

Unforgotten Life helps you preserve and share your own life stories - the memories, photos, and reflections you choose to record - and, if you want, publish them as a book for the people who matter to you.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, handled through our authentication provider, Clerk, including when you sign in with Google.
• The content you create: stories, photos, and other material you add to your account, along with your answers during any interview-style prompts.
• Basic technical and usage information: information needed to operate the service reliably, such as device and browser information, and error/activity logs.

How we use an AI assistant

When you use the interview feature, the text you've written may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API to help generate a relevant follow-up question. Anthropic does not use content submitted through its API to train its models. We do not use your content to train any AI model ourselves.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. Your stories and photos are private by default and are only visible to people you explicitly invite to collaborate on a project. We share information with the service providers who help us run Unforgotten Life - currently Clerk (authentication) and Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage) - only as needed to provide the service, and Anthropic as described above.

Data retention and your choices

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and its content at any time by contacting us at support@unforgotten.life. We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service.

Children's privacy

Unforgotten Life is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and make reasonable efforts to let you know.
